Your second half doesn’t have to be second best
I've made five major career changes — two of them in my 40s. Today, I help other professionals navigate midlife career transition toward work and life they love
What is Second Half?
Second Half is where professionals in their 40s and 50s come to make meaningful career change - through coaching, programmes, inspiration, and practical guidance. It combines a structured methodology with personal guidance to help you move from uncertainty to clarity and toward work that fits who you are today and the life you want to live.
Why I Created Second Half
Today, I'm in a good place in the second half of life. Happily living with my wife and two teenagers, juggling the responsibilities and desires a rich life entails. I'm also in the best shape of my life, physically and mentally - something that takes daily effort but pays back many times over.
But my path here has been anything but straight.
I've lived on four continents and built a career spanning corporate leadership, startups, consulting, investing, and board work. I've zigzagged between large organisations and entrepreneurial ventures - sometimes by design but never as part of a grand plan.
My interests, curiosity, and sense of what matters kept evolving, and I found ways to shape and seize opportunities along the way. Each transition came with unique circumstances, but a lot felt familiar: the ambiguity in the early stages, the lingering between possibilities, the doubt that remained even after deciding, and the quiet loss of leaving part of my old identity behind.
Over the years, I sought guidance - books, courses, counselling. Much of it helped, but none of it provided the structure, methodology, and sustained support I needed for what was always a personal discovery process, spanning many months and at times even years.
I was looking for something more holistic, relatable, and continuous. But I couldn't find it.
That's why I created Second Half - to be the companion through career change I wish I'd had on my own journey.
